Conciliation in the Shadow of the Law Workshop

This workshop is an exciting and unique opportunity for ADR practitioners, lawyers and other interested professionals to sharpen their dispute resolution skills and explore the dynamics of how conciliation operates in a statutory context. Senior management professionals will also gain from the insights into dispute resolution techniques and how to manage outcomes within an organizational context. The workshop will focus on Conciliation techniques and strategies that apply across a number of jurisdictions.

Workshop participants will have an opportunity to:

 explore their own dispute resolution (Conciliation) style and legal or organizational context;

 examine situations that challenge them in relation to party management or disputes;

 acquire Conciliation skills that can be applied in many areas of professional practice;

 learn from other conciliation practitioners in the field;

 develop new methods to deal with old problems, through small group exercises and coaching; &

 workshop ‘real life’ disputes from their own work/life and diverse experiences.

This training aims to provide not only an insight into the conciliation role but also an opportunity to meet other conciliators and professionals from a variety of jurisdictions and backgrounds.

La Trobe University will provide certificates to participants who complete this training.
