The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and the Tax Practitioners’ Board (TPB) are cracking down on tax agents who neglect to fulfil their ethical duties to their clients. Unfortunately, many tax agents are unaware of their legal obligations and their professional body’s ethical pronouncements. A proven breach could be disastrous if the TPB terminates a tax agent’s registration.
Are you on top of all of the issues?
- Reviewing the concept of ethics in a professional accounting practice;
- Reviewing APESB ethical pronouncement APES 110;
- Tax Practitioners’ Board – recent pronouncements;
- Dealing with the Tax Practitioners’ Board; and
- Update on recent cases dealing with ethical issues.
