On 27 September 2016, Dr Steven Tudor joined Rachel Carbonell on ABC Radio National’s Law Report to talk about how judges and magistrates can tell if someone is genuinely remorseful, and whether remorse is legally defined. On the show Dr Steven Tudor said:
Remorse is by law required to be treated as a mitigating factor. There is no standard percentage of discount but it must be treated as a mitigating factor. So it’s quite a serious matter as to whether or not the evidence of it is persuasive.
