La Trobe Law School hosts delegation of the Deputy President and 18 Judges of the High Court of Guizhou Province in China

La Trobe Law School recently hosted a visit of the delegation of the Deputy President and 18  Judges of the High Court of Guizhou Province in  China, from 14 to 18 November 2016. This court is the equivalent of our Victorian Supreme Court. The High court of Guizhou Province is second only to the Supreme court of China, which is the highest court in the Chinese Judicial Hierarchy.

The program being provided by La Trobe Law School is focused on aspects of the administration of civil justice in Victoria and includes modules on the Australian constitution, the role of judges and lawyers in the civil justice process and civil trials and appeals and enforcement.  It also addresses the topic of vexatious litigants.  It also includes visits to the Supreme Court of Victoria and a leading international law firm in Melbourne.

Judges of the court also visited us last year.
